Qualifications and Experience

 

Elizabeth Adye - known as Lisu - has an honours degree in Fine Art and a post graduate in Paper Conservation and Book Restoration.

She is accredited by the Professional Accreditation of Conservator-Restorers scheme run by the Institute of Conservation ICON.

Lisu has more than twenty years' experience of paper conservation - having published articles and won professional national prizes for conservation.

She was the project conservator of the Boulton & Watt Collection at Birmingham Archives & Heritage, following which she took charge of conservation at Walsall Local History Centre, and was then appointed Conservation Manager at the Gloucestershire Record Office.

In 2003 Lisu established her own studio and set up practice near Tewkesbury. For nearly ten years she has worked from that base, developing a wide spread of institutional and private clients throughout the UK.

The areas of conservation in which she is accredited are: Western Art on Paper, Archive, Photographs, Western Books, Preventive Conservation, Storage & Display, Conservation Management and Disaster Planning.
